Bushfire Recovery Survey Report - 8 months on
In May the Recovery team commissioned a survey to gather the thoughts and ideas of the community about their experiences recovering from the bushfires. Please click here for the report.
Recovery Projects
The Recovery Welfare and Working Group has now reconvened for 2013 and is busy undertaking a range of recovery projects. Please see below for upcoming projects and events.
Funding available for Street Parties
The Bushfire Recovery Working Group is supporting street parties in the fire affected areas by providing up to $500 of receipts, blank invitations and a games bag. Click here for more information and the registration form.
Totem Poles Project at Riflebutts
The Bushfire Recovery Working Group is seeking suitably qualified artists to design and carve two totem poles from the existing Pine Trees that were destroyed during the bushfires. See the Public Artwork Brief for more info.
Funding available for Weed Control
The Cape to Cape Catchments Group have Caring for our Country funding to provide financial and technical support for control of arum lily, blackberry and woody weed species such as non local acacias and eucalypts, genista, figs, Victorian tea tree, and pittosporum etc. in the fire affected area. They can fund a contractor to undertake the work or provide the chemical and technical advice.
