Supertown

The Regional Centres Development Plan (SuperTowns) is a Royalties for Regions initiative to encourage regional communities in the southern half of the state to plan and prepare for the future so they can take advantage of opportunities created by Western Australia’s population growth to 2050. WA’s population is predicted to more than double over the next 40 years to 4.9 million people.

Building

When proposing to build any structure over 9m2 you will be required to obtain a building licence.  Please refer to the Building section for more information on building services. Building Information Sheets are availalbe for downloading.

Health

 When proposing to estabish or operate any of the following you may be required to obtain an approval under Health regulations:

  • Food preparation or sale premises
  • Lodging house
  • Public building
  • Onsite effluent disposal (septic tank / aerobic treatment unit)
  • Swimming pool

Planning

Most development within the Shire may require development approval.  For further information see the Customer Information Sheets.

Infrastructure

Specific standards apply to the development of crossovers, parking spaces, pathways and other development related infrastructure.  For further information see the Customer Information Sheets.
