Main Street Design Concepts
The SuperTowns project seeks to identify and plan for 'transformational' projects that will assist the economic development of the Shire and the meet the needs of future residents. The redevelopment of the Main Street of Margaret River (Bussell Highway) and the surrounding road network has previously been identified as a priority through the adoption of by Council of a concept plan for improvements in this area. Through the SuperTowns process further, more detailed designs have been prepared.
If you have any comments or suggestions on these concepts please contact Nick Logan at 97805273, or nlogan@amrshire.wa.gov.au
Consultation for SuperTown Growth Plan
Planning is currently underway to complete the SuperTown Growth Plan for Margaret River as one of nine SuperTowns in the south west of the State. The SuperTowns vision is to have balanced communities, with lifestyle options and access to services. These communities will have affordable, quality housing and a diverse range of job opportunities. The towns will offer more choices for people to live in regional areas and an attractive alternative to living in the metropolitan area. The Shire has sought the input of the community to develop a vision for Margaret River in 2035 which will be included in future SuperTown documents. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Shire on 97805255 to further discuss this project.
