  • Thank a Volunteer Community Celebration

    5 December 2011

    6.00pm - 10.00pm

    Gloucester park Oval, Wallcliffe Road

    Due to the huge number of people who assisted our community through the trauma of the recent bushfire the Shire 's Thank A Volunteer Event has been expanded to include the whole community.

    All members of the community are invited to bring a picnic dinner and their esky to Gloucester on the oval. The Shire Council asks families, individuals, volunteers and community members to come to the Gloucester Park oval to thank those agency staff, shire volunteers and other individuals who have assisted in the emergency relief including our SES Bush Fire Brigades, Lions, Rotary and many others.

    The Shire encourages the whole community to attend to “THANK A VOLUNTEER” and take advantage of the opportunity to debrief with friends, tell your story of survival, celebrate the volunteers of the community and it’s resilience. A bouncy castle will be on the oval for the kids, the Football Club will be open for the adults and volunteers registered with the shire will be given a hamburger. Live musical entertainment is included with the talents of the Margaret River Concert Band, Skiffle Billys and mUnk.

    This event will also provide an opportunity to fundraise and the Shire will conduct a raffle of items donated by local businesses, the money will be donated to the Lord Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund.
