Purchasing a bin
Green Bin
A Green Bin is purchased by the resident requiring a service and remains the property of the purchaser. You may purchase a green wheelie bin from a hardware store as long as it meets the required type and size; 240 litre or 140 litre, green with green lid. Alternatively a bin can be purchased through the Shire by:
- Calling in to either the Margaret River or Augusta office
- Calling the Customer Service Centre and paying by Credit Card over the phone
- Requesting in writing with a cheque
A receipt will be issued which is evidence of payment for collection of the bin.
In Margaret River the Green Bin can be collected from the Railway Road Works Depot, Monday to Friday.
In Augusta arrangements will need to be made with staff for collection at the Blackwood Avenue Works Depot, Monday to Friday.

Yellow Bin
With every Green Bin that is purchased, a free Yellow Bin is provided by the company providing the recycling service. To obtain a Yellow Bin a Request form will need to be completed and submitted to the Shire. The bin will be delivered in approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
The Yellow Bin is provided to the property and is not to be removed when the property is vacated or sold.
