The Augusta Margaret River Shire Enterprise Agreement 2019 provides for reward and recognition through:

  • Safety net annual salary increase of 2% to 2.5% for the life of the agreement (based on CPI);
  • Performance based incremental salary increases for eligible employees – of 2%;
  • 10% to Superannuation;
  • Matching superannuation - the Shire will match dollar for dollar employee super contributions from 1% to 3%;
  • Paid Parental leave - four weeks primary carer and two weeks secondary carer;
  • Journey insurance to and from work coverage;
  • Paid and unpaid community service leave;
  • Supplementary leave benefit for emergencies & shutdown periods;
  • Attractive penalty rate provisions 20% for outside ordinary working hours, 50% for Saturdays and 75% for Sundays;
  • Flexible working arrangements including potential nine day fortnights for relevant employees;
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programs;
  • Greater flexibility to Long Service leave and;
  • Recreation Centre memberships.

Other ways that we provide reward and recognition are:

  • Peer Recognition – Gifts provided for peer recognition of individual and team achievements;
  • Employee Service – Service milestone gifts recognising employee service as a valuable asset to the community; and
  • Corporate Uniform – Uniform Subsidy provided to front line Customer Service Officers

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River proudly holds a Gold Volunteer Employer Recognition Award (VERA) and continuously supports the Department of Fire and Emergency Services’ volunteers.  The Shire is a recognised employer of choice for volunteers in the community.

The Shire has also been awarded the WorkSafe Plan Platinum Certificate.  The Shire has demonstrated a dedication to making occupational safety and heath a priority in the workplace.
