Integrated Planning and Reporting

The Shire follows the State Government's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework to plan and report its organisational activities. The Shire carefully maintains these plans through cyclic review and regular community engagement. These documents are also available under Publications.

Strategic Community Plan - 20 years

The Community Strategic Plan 2036 details the community's future vision for our local goverment area. It builds on our past strategic planning work, details the challenges we face and sets the key result areas where the organisation will deliver. The plan was adopted by Council on 27 September 2017 and is undergoing a major review in 2020-21.

The Corporate Plan is reviewed every year to ensure the organisation has a clear deliverable focus, aligned with the activities and needs of the broader community. The Corporate Plan 2020-24 was endorsed by Council on 26 August 2020 and will be reviewed again next year.

The Shire's annual budget undergoes an extensive review every year through Shire Executive and Councillors. This details the operational and The Annual Budget 2020-21 was endorsed by Council on 22 July 2020 and will be reviewed again next year.

Informing strategies

Informing strategies are used to test and inform the long-term aspirations of the Community Strategic Plan and guide deliverables which can be achieved in the Corporate Plan and budget.  These documents include:

  • Long Term Financial Plan - 10 years
  • Workforce Plan - 1 year
  • Asset Management: On 10 June 2020, Council adopted the Asset Management Strategy 2019-20 to 2028-29 and Asset Management Plan 2019-20 to 2028-29 as informing strategies. These documents aim to ensure the Shire has the necessary funds and resources available to maintain its $534M asset portfolio in a safe and acceptable standard over the next ten years. This includes roads, bridges, car parks, stormwater drainage, paths and trails, community buildings, jetties and boat ramps, parks and reserves.
