Description: The principal objective of Council in investing surplus cash not immediately required is the preservation of capital that can generate a reasonable return consistent with the Council’s conservative risk profile. While exercising the power to invest, consideration is to be given to preservation of capital, liquidity, and the return on investment. All investments are to be made in accordance with:  Local Government Act 1995 – Section 6.14;  The Trustees Amendment Act 1962 –,Part III Investments as amended by the Trustees Amendment Act 1997); and  Local Government (Financial Management) Regulations (19, 19C, 28 and 49).

Description: The purpose of this policy is to establish a fair and equitable fee structure which reflects actual reasonable costs for goods and services provided by council and takes into account the Council’s objectives and community obligations. The Shire will impose Fees and Charges for: • providing the use of, or allowing admission to, any property or facility wholly or partly owned, controlled, managed or maintained by the Shire; • supplying a service or carrying out work at the request of a person; • subject to section 5.94 of the LG Act, providing information from Shire records; • receiving an application for approval, granting an approval, making an inspection and issuing a licence, permit, authorisation or certificate; • supplying goods; and • such other services or goods as may be prescribed. 

Description: The purpose of this policy is to set the strategic direction and overarching framework for the Shire of Augusta Margaret River to enhance and maintain a safer community through: • Targeted partnerships, design, engagement and intervention strategies that preserve the sense of safety already experienced by the community as well minimise opportunities for people to be harmed. • Alignment of the Shire of Augusta Margaret River policy with relevant Federal, State, Regional and local policies and plans. Community safety in the context of this Policy comprises the key elements of: • Injury prevention (intentional and unintentional) and safer activities; • Crime Prevention; • Emergency Management.
