There are opportunities for local trades to work on the Margaret River Main Street Redevelopment

The Shire has compiled a local trades directory which will be made available to the major tenderers when the project tender is advertised.

Local suppliers who are interested in being added to the directory are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest if they have not done so already.

The Main Street Redevelopment project includes the following works: demolition and earthworks, drainage, lighting and electrical works, new pedestrian paving and kerbing, traffic management, landscaping and street furniture.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL – WEDNESDAY 23 OCTOBER 2019

 

The Shire would like to notify members of the public that there will be a Special Meeting of Council to be held on Wednesday 23 October 2019 at 5.30pm in Council Chambers, 41 Wallcliffe Road Margaret River.

 

The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following items:

  • Election of Shire President
  • Election of Deputy Shire President
  • Allocation of Seating of Councillors by CEO
  • Appointment of Members to Council Committees and Reference Groups

Notice is hereby given that the local government of the Shire of Augusta Margaret River has prepared the abovementioned Scheme Amendment for the purpose of:

Rezoning 3 (Lot 5) Old Ellen Brook Road, Gracetown to allow for the additional use of the site for the purposes of ‘Reception Centre’.

Plans and documents setting out and explaining the Scheme Amendment have been deposited at the Shire Offices, 41 Wallcliffe Road, Margaret River and will be open for inspection during office hours up to and including 14 November 2019.

Submissions on the Scheme Amendment may be made in writing on Form No. 4 and lodged with the Shire on or before 14 November 2019.

This Amendment is available for inspection in order to provide an opportunity for public comment and it should not be construed that final approval will be granted.

Proposed Amendments to

Cemeteries Local Law 2010

Activities in Thoroughfares and Public Places and Trading Local Law 2010

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River proposes to make amendments to the ‘Cemeteries Local Law 2010’ and ‘Activities in Thoroughfares and Public Places and Trading Local Law 2010’.

The purpose and effect of the  proposed Cemeteries Local Law 2020 is to allow for more flexibility and control in relation to burials and bring the local law up to date and into line with the Metropolitan Board By-laws.

The purpose and effect of proposed Activities in Thoroughfares and Public Places and Trading Amendment Local Law 2020is to provide for more clarity in relation to regulation of certain activities in public places such as public performing and non-trading stalls and to bring the local law up to date with model local laws.

A copy of the proposed amendments to the local laws may be inspected at or obtained from the Shire’s Offices 41 Wallcliffe Road, Margaret River between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday and at any public library within the Shire of Augusta Margaret River during normal opening hours.  Also available by clicking on links below:
