The policy has been prepared to allow variations to the Residential Design Codes that would otherwise require approval from the Western Australian Planning Commission.

This policy describes these variations for blanket WAPC approval, which will be implemented through subsequent LDP’s.

In accordance with Part 4 of the Local Government (Functions and General) Regulations 1996, the Shire of Augusta Margaret River is seeking tenders from appropriate parties for the provision of Tree Management Services.

A copy of the Request for Tender documents (RFT) can be obtained by emailing [email protected]  (including a note of the RFT reference 09-21 in the email subject).

All tenders are to be received by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River before the closing deadline of 10.00 am AWST Monday, 31 May 2021. No late tenders will be accepted.

The Shire is advertising a local planning policy which will support the establishment of a Design Review Panel in the Shire. A Design Review Panel is a group of experts who provide independent advice on the design of a development proposal or project. The policy is only part of the overall establishment process, but will do the following:

Require the advice of a Design Review Panel to be considered in the assessment of particular types of development.

Outlines the types of development that will be assessed by the Design Review Panel.

Outline the process for fees and charges.

Tenderers are invited to attend a non-mandatory tender briefing to be held at 10am (AWST) Friday 7 May 2021 at the Margaret River Civic Administration Centre, 41 Wallcliffe Road, Margaret River WA.

Project summary:  In accordance with section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995, Part 3 (functions of Local Governments – Closing certain thoroughfares to vehicles), the Shire provides notice that maintenance works are planned for Carters Road Bridge.  The work includes the removal of road pavement, repairs to the timber deck and pavement reinstatement.

Commencement date:  These works are programmed to commence Monday 10 May 2021. Completion is anticipated to be achieved by Thursday 20 May 2021 (weather permitting).

Traffic Management:  Traffic management will be in place. Refer to the attached Detour Plan for access details.

Property Access:  During works, no traffic will be permitted over the bridge. Therefore, Carters Road will be closed at the bridge location.
