Fire Agencies (Shire of Augusta Margaret River, Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions, Department of Fire and Emergency Services) will, in the coming weeks, commence important planned burning activities. These planned burns are critical for reducing fuel loads surrounding town sites in order to reduce impact of wild fires on homes and other infrastructure should they occur.
Hazard Reduction Burns are planned burns to be completed in and around Margaret River Shire Reserve 18720. This will necessitate the need to close the Wadani Track adjacent to Railway Terrace for a period of time.

Stage 1 - Thursday 17th October 2019
Leeuwln Road wlll be closed at Skippy Rock Road from 7.00am - 2.00pm - no vehicle access to the Lighthouse. (See parking Information for how to get there).
Skippy Rock Road will be closed at both Intersection points of Leeuwln Road.
Diana Road will be closed at the Greenhill Road and Matthews Road Intersections from 9.30am - 1.30pm. Local traffic will be permitted.
Hillview Road will be closed from 9.30am - 1.00pm.
Greenhill Road will be closed from the Hillview to Diana Road Intersections from 9.30am - 1.00pm.
Stage 2 - Friday 18th October 2019
Boranup Drive will be closed at Caves Road between 7.00am - 1.00pm. Please note there is no access to Boranup Lookout or Campsite during this time.
Conte Road will be closed at the Conto Campsite from 7.00am - 2.00pm.
Stage 3 - Saturday 19th October 2019
Wirring Road will be closed from Osmington Road and Whyte Road Intersections between 7 .OOam - 12.30pm.
Stage 4 - Sunday 20th October 2019
Garters Road will be closed from the Bussell Highway inter'Seetion to Burnside Road from 7 .OOam - 2.30pm.
Access roads to the Pines off Bussell Highway will be closed from
7 .ooam - 1.30pm.
In accordance with section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995, Part 3 (functions of Local Governments – Closing certain thoroughfares to vehicles), Works being carried out by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River are shouldering on Miamup Road, from Memorial Drive to the creek. These works are funded by the Shire.
These works are programmed to commence Wednesday 16 October 2019 and it is anticipated that works will take approximately 4 days to complete (weather permitting).
During works, individual property access may be affected. The Shire Works Coordinator will contact residents, where necessary to discuss issues and make alternative arrangements prior to individual access being affected. During shouldering works, traffic management will be in place and some delays are likely. The Shire will endeavour to avoid lengthy delays, however where an alternative route is possible, please consider this.

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River (Shire) requires the services of a suitably qualified Contractor for construction works in relation to the redevelopment of the Margaret River Main Street. These works are anticipated for completion between February 2020 and May 2021.
