Community Consultation

The coastline from Prevelly to Gnarabup contains the Shire’s only beachside cafe, one of the Shire’s most popular swimming beaches and the Gnarabup jetty and boat ramp. The beach has been progressively eroding resulting in loss of mature dune vegetation and damage to coastal infrastructure including stairs, fencing and café decking.

In the short-term, the Shire has been seasonally closing and adapting beach access points (stairs) as necessary.  The Shire has also been working with universities and private consultants to collect and analyse data and to develop long-term management options for coastal infrastructure.

An information sheet summarising the results of the analysis and options for the coastal walkway, beach access and boat ramp is now available for public comment.
