Community Consultation

You are invited to view and comment on the Draft Lower Margaret River Foreshore Action Plan which has been released for community consultation.  The Plan has been prepared to provide a detailed description of the condition of the foreshore reserves and recommendations on the management required to ensure the values, attributes and functions of the Margaret River reserves are protected and conserved.

The draft Plan includes recommendations relating to revegetation, weed control, access management, community involvement and a range of other matters. It also includes a recommendation to remove private water harvesting infrastructure from foreshore reserves and a recommendation regarding acknowledgement of high ‘wildness value’ areas.

Significant community consultation has already been undertaken through preparation of the plan and prior the release for public comment.  Results from the consultation period will be presented to Council prior to the formal adoption of the Plan.
