The Shire of Augusta Margaret River (the Shire) has received an amended planning application for an Extractive Industry at 46 (Lot 201/202) Boronia Road, Rosa Glen which includes an additional dwelling originally not shown on the initial application.

Extraction method: extraction only
Extraction area: 7.4 ha
Estimated deposit volume:
Cell 1: 0.8ha 10,000 m3
Cell 2: 2.5ha 32,000 m3
Cell 3: 4.1ha 53,000 m3
TOTAL: 95,000 m3
Staging details: Ten (10) progress stages each 0.6-1.1ha
Phase(area) one: Cell 1 > stage I, Ill, IV, V
Cell 2 > stage II
Phase(area) two: Cell 3 > stage I – V
Details of processing: gravel extraction, crushing and screening on-site.
Days and hours of operation:
Estimated completion: 2027 (5 years)
Average number of truck movements per day: 18
Maximum number of truck movements per day: (18 + estimated peak of 100%) Total = 36
Sound bunds: Up to 7m high sound-bunds will be installed as part of the construction phase and must be completed for each cell before the operational (extraction) phase commences.
Route Identification: Two (2) major routes:
Route A - a western route on Rosa Brook Rd (anticipated 50% of all deliveries).
Route B - an eastern route on Rosa Brook Rd (anticipated 50% of all deliveries).
Environmental Noise Assessment Has been prepared, and compliance with the relevant assigned noise levels will be achieved if the required noise mitigation measurements will be incorporated. The full report can be found within Appendix G - Environmental Noise Assessment Report.
