The Prohibited Burning Period for the Shire has been extended by two weeks and will apply until midnight, Tuesday 28 March 2023. No fires can be lit in open air. More information here.

e-scooters and e-bikes

e-scooters are currently available for hire from micromobility company Bird. e-bikes will also be available soon.

Shire Council granted Bird a permit to operate a 12-month micromobility trial of e-scooters and e-bikes in the Shire.

Community members and visitors can download the Bird app, find an e-scooter nearby using the map, scan the QR code on it and hop on and go! 

The e-scooters are parked at various stations (please refer to the map on the app). Riding areas include Margaret River and Gnarabup townsites.

Bird’s contact details are displayed on all their e-scooters. If you see irresponsible behaviour or vandalism, please report it to Bird.
