Bushfire Recovery

Hazards On Your Property After a Bushfire

Be aware of possible dangers on your property - fire-damaged trees may drop branches, smouldering logs may reignite, peat soils may be hot.

Asbestos Fire Contamination

For instances of fire-damaged asbestos, please contact the Shire for information and assistance.

Using Rainwater After a Bushfire

There may be ash, debris and residual fire retardant on roofs around the fire zone. It is recommended to disconnect gutters to allow rains to wash these away before reconnecting. If you suspect fire retardant has entered your water supply, please do not drink it, and contact the Shire.
