Payments and payment options

We provide a number of options for paying rates, invoices and infringements:

Rates payment options

Option 1 - Payment in full

Payment of the total amount. There are no additional costs for this option.Full payment is due 35 days after the date of issue of the original notice. The due date is shown on the front of the Rates Notice. By choosing this option, the ratepayer is automatically entered into a prize draw.

Option 2 - Instalment plan

There is an instalment administration fee of $18 and instalment interest charged of 5.5%. The penalty interest rate for late instalment payments is 11% until the unpaid amount is received. The first instalment payment amount includes all outstanding arrears. The instalment option may not be taken if at the date for payment of the first instalment any outstanding arrears remain unpaid. Under this option, the ratepayer is automatically entered into a prize draw when the first instalment is paid by the due date.

Payment difficulties

A Special arrangement agreement may be discussed with the Shire in cases of financial hardship and are a preferred option to legal recovery action.  Special arrangements are processed using Direct Debit.  Please contact a Revenue Officer on 08 9780 5234 to discuss your payment options for either a weekly or fortnightly plan by Direct Debit.

Making a payment

In person

Payments can be made by cash, cheque or eftpos at 41 Wallcliffe Road, Margaret River Cashier Hours - Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, excluding Public Holidays: or 66 Allnut Terrace, Augusta Cashier Hours - Monday to Friday, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm daily, excluding Public Holidays.

Bpay

Pay by BPay through your own financial institution.  Reference numbers and the Shire's Biller code are located on the bottom of the notice.

 Credit Card by Phone to the Shire

Please have your Assessment number, Invoice number or Infringement number ready, located in the top right hand corner of the Notice. Only Mastercard or Visa are accepted.

Shire Customer Service Centre: Call 9780 5255 Margaret River office or 9780 5660 Augusta office, between 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday (Augusta Office is closed between 12.00pm and 1.00pm daily).

Credit Card by Phone through Bpoint 24 hr service

Bpoint Payment Service: Call 1300 276 468.  This is a 24 hour service, accepting only Mastercard or Visa.

Please have your reference numbers and the Shire's Biller code ready which are located on the bottom of the notice.

Credit Card by Internet

Pay through BPOINT the Commonwealth Bank payment facility.  Reference numbers are located on the bottom right hand corner of the notice.

 Mail

Post cheques or money orders payable to Shire Augusta Margaret River, PO Box 61, Margaret River WA 6285.

Cheques to be crossed "Not Negotiable".  Tear off the payment slip at the bottom of the Rate Notice or Debtors invoice and copy the Infringement notice to include with your payment.
