Come along to Gas Bay from 10am – 12pm on Sunday, 7 May and help care for your local coastal environment. The morning will include planting local coastal seedlings and brushing to help stabilise the dunes.
The last community coastal rehabilitation session at the Gnarabup Headland attracted 80+ attendees, indicating there is a lot of interest in being involved with local environment and coastal works.
These volunteer events provide a wonderful opportunity for all community members to really make a difference in restoring natural areas and gain a sense of community stewardship.
This coastal rehabilitation work will complement the ongoing dedicated volunteer work by the Margaret River Coastal Residents Group who continue to undertake their weekly sessions in protecting Shire vested reserves from Gas Bay to the Margaret River Rivermouth.
The Shire has partnered with Nature Conservation Margaret River to assist in delivering this event.
Margaret River Hampers is generously donating morning tea for all volunteers, so for catering purposes please register your interest by emailing [email protected].
If you have them, please bring closed shoes, sun protection, water, gloves and a trowel.
Please meet at the Gas Bay car park.
This event is funded by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River and supported by a Coastwest Grant. Coastwest- Helping communities to care for the Western Australian coast.
