Water

Each year we use 113,000 (Augusta) and 126,000 (Margaret River) litres of reticulated drinking water per annum (2014). Read more.

Of all the items we consume, food has the most significant impact on our carbon footprint, water use and overall ecological impact. Read more.

Transport

As at 2006/07 the Shire’s combined emissions from heavy, light and commuter transport was 861 tonnes for that year. Read more.

Waste

Approximately 15,000 tonnes of domestic waste was deposited at the Davis Road waste facility in 2013/2014. Read more.

The residential and business sectors contribute 84% of the communities CO2 emissions which as at 2006 were 83,000 tonnes. Read more.

Our Shire is located within the Southwest Australia Ecoregion (SWAE), which has global significance given its high levels of natural diversity, particularly for plants. Read more.
