Community groups connect on nature walk

Shire Friends of Reserves groups recently joined together for a special volunteer event at Nguraren Kalleep Reserve, Margaret River.

Guided through the forest by bird expert Christine Wilder from BirdLife and dedicated volunteer Helen Bradbury from Friends of Nguraren Kalleep Reserve, the group listened to the calls of over 15 species of birds and learnt about the different types of plants that grow in the reserve.

It was great to see volunteers from many of the Friends of Reserves groups along with some new faces, who are passionate about helping to care for the environment in our bushland and coastal reserves.

For the full list of groups and for more information on the Friends of Reserves program please go to Friends of Reserves.
