New nature playground opens in Witchcliffe for families to enjoy

The Shire is excited to announce the opening of the Witchcliffe Nature Playground, designed to inspire creative and active play.

Located on Redgate Road, the playground features a landscaped garden with natural play elements and open space for children to explore and build. It’s already a hit with local families:
“It’s really cool, I was excited about the fairy houses!” – Elsie, age 5

The playground is part of a broader upgrade to the recreational area, which includes BBQ facilities, shaded seating and improved pathways due for completion in late 2025. The Witchcliffe courts are getting a refresh too. Resurfacing and line marking will be completed once the weather dries up.

The project was delivered through a partnership between the Australian Government and the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, following extensive community consultation.
