Consultation opens for new Local Planning Policy – Renewable Energy Facilities

Consultation opens for new Local Planning Policy – Renewable Energy Facilities

We’ve drafted a new Local Planning Policy – Renewable Energy Facilities, and we’d like to hear what community thinks about it.

This Policy has been prepared using community feedback and research into other state and local planning policies.

It will be used to assess large scale renewable energy proposals, including the Development Application for the proposed wind farm in Scott River. Consultation for that project is also currently live. Have your say on it here.

You can find out more about next steps for this Policy and the Development Application for the proposed wind farm information here.

The draft Policy includes provisions about land capability, landscape and visual impact, noise, environmental impact, constriction and decommissioning and community engagement and community benefit funds.

Read the draft Policy and have your say on our consultation page.

Feedback will close on Monday 22 December 2025.
