
The Shire of Augusta Margaret River will hold its Local Government Elections on Saturday 18 October 2025, and now is the time to make sure you're enrolled to vote.
Local government is the closest level of government to the community, and the decisions made by Council have a direct impact on our everyday lives, from roads and waste services to libraries, parks, planning and community programs. Voting in these elections is your opportunity to help shape the future of the Shire.To vote, you must be enrolled by 5pm on Thursday 22 August.
Eligible voters include:
• Residents of the Shire
• Owners or occupiers of property within the Shire
If you're unsure whether you're enrolled, or if your details have changed, it's important to check and update your enrolment. You can also enrol for the first time if you're not yet registered.
Visit the WA Electoral Commission website at elections.wa.gov.au/enrol-vote to:
• Check your current enrolment
• Update your postal address or other details
• Enrol as a new voter
This year’s election will be conducted by postal vote, with ballot papers mailed out in September. Make sure your enrolment is up to date so you receive your ballot and can participate.
Voting in local government elections is not compulsory, but it is an important way to have your say on the future of our community.
