The Prohibited Burning Period has been extended and will now apply until midnight Saturday, 28 March 2026.

This means no fires can be lit in the open air, anywhere in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River

Margaret River Library reopens tomorrow – come and say hi!

We’re excited to welcome everyone back to the Margaret River Library following our temporary closure for essential roof replacement works

The new roof is now complete, and it means no more leaks, better protection for our collections and equipment and a safer, more reliable space for the long term. While the work wasn’t glamorous, it was important and we want to thank the community for your patience while the building was fenced off and services were paused.

All your usual services are now back up and running, including:
•    Borrowing and returns
•    Public PCs, printing and Wi Fi
•    Study spaces
•    Programs, events and activities
•    Return chute (now reopened)

If you’ve been holding onto items during the closure, you can return them anytime - no rush.

Thank you to everyone who borrowed ahead of time, used the Augusta Library, tried out our eResources or simply waited patiently while we got this job done.

See you soon at the library.
