The Prohibited Burning Period has been extended and will now apply until midnight Saturday, 28 March 2026.

This means no fires can be lit in the open air, anywhere in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River

Changes to the caravan ground and camping regulations, which came into effect on 1 September 2024, now allow the Shire to support innovative and low-cost temporary housing options.

These changes allow for:

  • Camping in a caravan for up to two years while building
  • Living in a Tiny Home on Wheels.
