The Prohibited Burning Period for the Shire has been extended further and will now apply until midnight, Tuesday 14 May 2024. No fires can be lit in the open air. More information here.

The Margaret River Public Library and the Augusta Public Library are both wheelchair accessible, with two ACROD bays for easy parking.

Accessible library collections include resources for adults, young adults and children in various formats. 

Library users can borrow dyslexia friendly books and access a C-Pen digital reader device for dyslexic readers. 

Books are available in large print and languages other than English. The libraries have a large DVD collection and a listening library of audiobooks and music CDs. You can also access a huge variety of electronic resources, including e-books, e-audio books, e-magazines and comics. 

Families attending library activities have access to a sensory story time kit.
