Advocacy Continues at WALGA Conference

Last week our Shire President, CEO and several councillors attended the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) annual Convention and AGM. They heard from renowned speakers and industry experts and represented our community when voting on WALGA’s key advocacy priorities.

Attending industry events like these provides a valuable opportunity to share insights with other local governments, who face similar challenges, and help us developing solutions that respond to the challenges faced by our community.

It also supports our ongoing advocacy efforts to secure greater investment for Augusta-Margaret River by ensuring State Government leaders understand the needs of our community.

Councillors were also able to meet directly with senior managers of DBCA and reiterated our case that we need funding to protect the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park
