The Shire is committed to a thriving local economy that supports our growing community, our unique environment and our way of life.
As part of this commitment, we regularly review our approach to economic development to make sure it reflects what matters most to the people and businesses who call this place home.
Our current Sustainable Economy Strategy (2021–25) is due for renewal. The new strategy – the Economic Development Strategy (EDS) 2027–2032 – will examine how we ensure our local economy supports businesses, individuals, community connection and the health of our natural environment.
The strategy will guide the role that the Shire can play in the economic health of our region for the next five years.
This is an opportunity to better understand how the Shire can support businesses of all sizes and industries — from wine and agriculture to retail, hospitality, trades and everything in between — so our local economy can continue to thrive.
We want to hear from residents, business owners and community organisations from across the Shire to make sure this new strategy reflects your priorities.
If you live or work in the Shire, we’d love to hear from you.
