Essential repairs at Barrett Street Weir this week

Essential repairs to the recycled water main at the Barrett Street Weir will be underway from Wednesday to Friday this week. 

To allow room for large machinery and pipe delivery, the Barrett Street Weir carpark will be closed to vehicles on Thursday from approximately 8am to 5pm.

Foot traffic and trail access will still be open as usual during the works.

We expect only minor disruptions aside from the one day carpark closure.

Weir closed to swimmers

The Weir remains closed to swimmers after routine water testing last week detected elevated levels of E. coli.

Additional sampling is now underway, with results expected by the end of this week. Once the new water quality results are in, we’ll update the community immediately and advise whether conditions meet the guidelines for reopening.

While we wait for the latest test results, we’re asking everyone to please avoid swimming at the Weir.
