Exciting opportunity for local artists

Artist EOI now open

The Shire of Augusta Margaret River has an exciting opportunity for South West artists to create vibrant public artwork in the heart of Margaret River.

We’re calling for Expressions of Interest from experienced South West-based artists to create an original design celebrating the character, diversity and natural beauty of our region.

Inspired by the Shire’s vision, One Community, Standing Together with Nature, the artworks should reflect what makes our region special, from its people, cultures and townsites to its industries, experiences and natural environments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a local artist to showcase their work through vibrant authentic artwork that reflect our Shire and resonates with residents and visitors alike.

The successful artist will develop a suite of two to three original artworks to be displayed on flag banners throughout Margaret River town centre from January 2027, displayed seasonally for up to five years.

View the Expression of Interest document and find out how to apply here.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 13 November 2026.
