We are inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified people to join our Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) as an independent external member and Deputy to the Presiding Member
The ARIC provides independent oversight and advice to Council on audit, financial management, legislative compliance, risk management and organisational improvement. The Deputy acts as Presiding Member when required and otherwise participates as an ordinary Committee member.Applicants should have high-level expertise in financial management, accounting and financial audits, an understanding of the role’s duties and responsibilities, strong communication skills, and relevant experience providing independent expert advice. Knowledge of local government financial reporting and auditing requirements is desirable.
The Committee meets at least four times a year. Meetings generally run for approximately 30 minutes, with around 30 to 60 minutes of preparation. A fee of $500 per meeting is payable, with reimbursement of reasonable expenses available. The appointment will conclude on 16 October 2027.
