The Shire is planning a new playground at Sawmill Loop, Karridale, and we would like community feedback to help shape the design, play experience and character of the space.
The playground will provide a new local play space for children, families, carers and the broader Karridale community to enjoy. It has been identified as a priority through the Shire’s Leisure Plan 2024 and Public Open Space Strategy 2024.
The site has already been confirmed through the Shire’s strategic planning process, so this consultation is focused on the playground design rather than where it will be built. The site is classified as a Local A Playground, which means the size, facilities and level of service are guided by the Shire’s adopted strategies and available project budget.
As a Local A Playground, the space is expected to include a smaller play structure and two larger play elements.. The project has an allocated budget of approximately $96,000 for playground installation, site works and soft-fall surfacing.
Your feedback will help us understand who is likely to use the playground, the ages of children in the local community, preferred play experiences, important features, accessibility needs and the type of local character or theme people would like considered.
Residents, families, carers and community members are encouraged to complete the short survey on Your Say to share their ideas and priorities. The survey is open from 16 September to 16 October 2026.
