Jindong-Treeton Road bridge upgrade starts in March

Bridge upgrade on Jindong-Treeton Road

Works to replace the ageing timber bridge on Jindong-Treeton Road will begin on Tuesday 3 March, with an eight week full road closure in place between Osmington Road and Treeton Road.

The bridge is around 80 years old and has been showing signs of deterioration for some time. It’s inspected every year, with a more detailed inspection every five years. Recent assessments confirmed it's time for a full renewal.

The old bridge will be removed and replaced with a new concrete culvert, which is safer, longer lasting and better able to handle high water flows during heavy rain. The project also includes resurfacing the road approaches, installing longer guard rails, widening the bridge area and slightly lifting the road to improve safety.

Traffic changes
•    Jindong-Treeton Road will be closed from Osmington Road to Treeton Road for the duration of the works.
•    Local traffic will still be able to access homes and businesses.
•    Semini Custom Feeds will continue operating as usual.
•    Heavy vehicles will be detoured via Osmington Road, with signs in place.

The project is fully funded by the Federal Government in the Roads to Recovery Program.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we carry out this important safety upgrade.
