Local artist brings colour and storytelling to Augusta Library

With the Margaret River Library temporarily closed for building works, many locals have found themselves missing their regular library fix. But there’s good news for book lovers, art fans and anyone looking for a quiet moment out of the house. Augusta Library has plenty to offer, including a stunning art exhibition now on display.

Visitors can currently enjoy beautiful artwork by local artist Mo L’Artiste (Morgane Chebahi), whose distinctive style brings stories, emotion and texture to life. Working primarily with acrylics, Morgane often incorporates jarrah sawdust into her pieces not only as a pigment, but as a material that evokes the warmth and grit of our coastline. Her paintings feature expressive characters that carry their own stories, each one infused with her love of life and the natural world.

The exhibition includes framed original artworks as well as framed prints of some of her most loved images. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply curious, it’s well worth a visit.

And with the Margaret River Library temporarily closed, this is the perfect opportunity for locals to rediscover (or discover for the first time!) the charm of Augusta Library.
Borrow a book, enjoy the calm and take in the creativity on display.
