A vibrant afternoon of youth talent, creativity and community connection
The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is excited to announce the return of SAMM Fest 2026, a free celebration of skate, art, music and mental health at the Margaret River Youth Precinct on Saturday 21 November. From 3pm to 6pm, festivalgoers can enjoy live music, dance performances, interactive workshops, food vans, basketball, health and wellbeing resources, and the inaugural Youth Makers Market. The afternoon will wrap up with a high-energy skate competition from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Shire President Julia Jean-Rice said SAMM Fest was about making sure young people felt they had a place in their community, where they could be themselves, connect with others and feel supported.
“Everyone wants to feel like they belong. Having a place where you can meet people, try something new, share what you love and feel accepted for who you are can make such a difference," she said.
“That’s what makes SAMM Fest so special. It brings people together, celebrates the ideas and talents of our young people, and creates space for conversations about mental health in a positive, welcoming environment.
“The Shire is proud to host this much-loved event, and the incredible contribution young people make to our region. We’d love to see everyone come along, get behind our local youth and recognise all they bring to our community.”
A new addition to this year’s festival is the Youth Makers Market, giving young local creators the chance to showcase their work and connect with the community. Young people interested in securing a stall can find more information on the Shire’s Youth Makers Market expression of interest page.
A free return shuttle bus from Augusta will also be available. To reserve a seat, travellers must email [email protected] by 16 November.
