Four community members have been named winners of the Shire’s Plastic Free July competition, which invited people to tag friends on Facebook and help spread the word about avoiding single-use plastics
Thank you to everyone who took part by tagging others on the competition post and helping share the Plastic Free July message across our community.Congratulations to our four winners, who will each choose one of four $100 vouchers:
• Sue Gibson
• Kylie Hough
• Laura Bailey
• Ann-Marie Thompson
Winners are asked to email [email protected] to claim their prize.
Thanks to the local businesses (Blue Ginger Fine Foods, Marmalade Witchy and Annapurna Wholefoods) that supported Plastic Free July. Their refill options, BYO-friendly services and alternatives to single-use plastics make it easier for residents to choose lower-waste options and care for our beautiful region.
Take a sneak peek inside each business and check out the highlights of our campaign here: Blue Ginger highlights, Marmalade highlights, Annapurna highlights).
While the campaign has wrapped up, the positive changes can continue all year. Keeping a reusable cup or bag close by, refilling containers and choosing unpackaged items where possible are small actions that add up over time.
Plastic Free July forms part of the Shire’s Caring for Our Place initiative, which encourages practical everyday choices to reduce waste and protect our environment. Residents can continue exploring available subsidies and rebates to support low-waste living.
