Seasonal road grading update

We’re wrapping up our summer road grading schedule and will soon be preparing local roads for the wetter winter months ahead

With more than 500km of unsealed roads across our region, we follow a structured, year round maintenance program to keep them safe, accessible and resilient.

As we head into winter, the road maintenance program will shift to:

•    Winter grading, which requires moisture to reshape and reworks material
•    Shoulder and drain preparation, improving stormwater flow and reducing erosion

This work improves road safety, reduces erosion and helps the network withstand winter weather conditions.

All unsealed roads are signposted to remind motorists that gravel roads change frequently. Please drive to conditions and slow down when you see ‘grader ahead’ signs to keep everyone safe.

If you notice a road in need of attention, please log a request with the Shire’s customer service team or online here.
