Volunteer Voices and Community Conversations panel session set to inspire
The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is inviting volunteers, community groups and organisations to an evening of conversation, connection and shared learning.
The 'Volunteer Voices and Community Conversations' panel session will be held on Thursday 20 August and bring together a diverse group of local volunteers to share their experiences and insights gained from giving back to the community.
Shire President Julia Jean-Rice said the event will be a valuable opportunity for community groups to learn from experienced volunteers and be inspired by their stories.
"We are incredibly fortunate to live in a community filled with people who generously give their time and talents to make our Shire a better place to live," she said.
"This event is a chance to acknowledge and thank the volunteers who contribute in countless ways, while learning from their experiences and celebrating the impact they have on our community.
"Whether you're a long-time volunteer, part of a community organisation or simply interested in getting involved, we hope you'll come along, be inspired and make new connections."
The panel will feature representatives from a range of local community organisations as well Dominique Monteleone from Wicked Strategies, a consultancy that specialises in supporting and strengthening community organisations.
Topics will include attracting and retaining volunteers, creating inclusive volunteer environments, supporting volunteer skill development, and navigating common challenges in volunteer management.
The evening will also include networking opportunities, with light refreshments and door prizes generously donated by local businesses.
The 'Volunteer Voices and Community Conversations' panel session builds on a series of capacity-building workshops delivered by the Shire throughout May and June as part of its 2026 National Volunteer Week program.
The event will be held from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm on Thursday, 20 August, at the Margaret River Men's Shed. Register via the Shire website.
