The Rotary Club of Margaret River have kindly provided funding for a program aimed at encouraging year one students to use their local public library. Each Year One student in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River is given a Reading Rabbits pack that includes general library information, colouring in and a special reading rewards card. Every time the student borrows from the library they will be given a stamp on their card. Prizes such as stationery, stickers and book vouchers from the Margaret River Bookshop are awarded as incentives. Reading Rabbits is sponsored by Rotary Club of Margaret River, The Margaret River Bookshop and Scholastic Australia.
Book Bandicoots is a program for kids over 7 years old who love reading and visiting their local public library. Each time a child borrows a book they receive a stamp on their Book Bandicoots card, and after 10 visits and completing a book review, the card can then be used as a voucher to the Margaret River Bookshop. Book Bandicoots is a perfect graduation for those who have completed Reading Rabbits or just want to be rewarded for reading for fun.
Book Bandicoots is a partnership between the Shire of Augusta Margaret River Libraries, Rotary Club of Margaret River and the Margaret River Bookshop. Please see our friendly library staff to participate and answer any of your questions.
Book Chat Club is held at 4.15pm at the Margaret River Library on the last Monday of every month (excluding public and school holidays).
A group for those aged between ten and fourteen years old who are enthusiastic about books. Each meeting we chat about what we have read and give reviews for other members of the club. There is no ‘set’ book – we agree on a genre or theme, and you pick a book that appeals to you.
Please email Rachael on [email protected] or call 9780 5602 to book a place as spaces are limited
