The following items should be placed in your yellow lidded bin for recycling
Make your recycling count
Place materials loose in the bin
Bagged or boxed recycling will not be sorted and may end up in landfill.
Ensure recyclables are clean and empty
Items will be rejected by the recycler if they are full or too dirty.
Remove lids from jars and bottles
Lids are often made from different materials than the container they are on. When you leave a lid on it degrades the quality of the material and makes it harder to recycle.
Davis Road Recycling and Waste Management Facility will accept the following -
Residents are encouraged to separate garden waste (green waste) from their household refuse which can be disposed of at the Davis Road Recycling and Waste Management Facility.
All green waste must be free from any contamination otherwise general waste disposal charges will apply.
Rural residents who have a habitable dwelling on their property and do not receive a kerbside collection are provided with a Rural Domestic Waste Pass. The annual fee for the rural domestic waste pass is $111
The Rural Domestic Waste Pass can be used for up to 52 disposals of 0.25 cubic metres, the equivalent of a wheelie bin, of household domestic waste.
Domestic waste is defined as being typically household waste suitable for disposal via a normal kerbside waste bin collection.
Household waste considered to not meet the criteria such as mattresses, settees, cupboards etc will be charged in accordance with current Shire disposal fees and charges. The pass is not to be used by commercial businesses.
Passes are assigned to properties based on their locality. If you are assigned a pass for a waste facility that you do not use please contact our team on (08) 9780 5255 to update your preferences.
Developed with the environment in mind, the drumMUSTER program collects and recycles eligible, pre-cleaned agricultural and veterinary chemical containers.
DrumMUSTER is a national product stewardship program that is supported by agvet chemical manufacturers, industry stakeholders which includes member and farming associations, state and local governments. Working hand-in-hand with local Councils and other collection agencies, drumMUSTER has established collection facilities all over Australia and since its inception in 1998 the program has recycled over 20 million containers.
Once the containers have been collected, they are recycled into re-usable products such as wheelie bins, road signs, fence posts and bollards.
The drumMUSTER is a free service which benefits the user, the environment, industry and the wider community by providing a reliable, cost effective and sustainable option for the recycling of empty eligible agvet chemical containers. Drums with the drumMUSTER logo can be returned to the Davis Road Recycling and Waste Management Facility only. Please contact the the Gate Attendant prior to bringing in your drums.
