Battle of Crete - a talk with Bill Bunbury, Poli Tataraki and Michael Winters

Into the Moonlit Village is a collaborative book of poetry and art about the Battle of Crete by Poli Tataraki and Michael Winters. In ways that commemorate and lament the sacrifices made, this presentation will showcase how poetry and linocuts sensitively combine to convey how ANZAC soldiers and the local population grappled on Crete with the Nazi invasion.

You will hear selected readings by the poet as you view projections of the corresponding linocut images. Both poet and artist will also share their artistic journeys. Bill Bunbury will talk briefly on the battle of Crete and conduct a question and answer session with the author.

All are welcome to this free, accessible and inclusive event and guests are invited to stay for afternoon tea.
Please book a seat using Eventbrite. For further information, please contact our Library Team at [email protected] or on 9780 5600.
