Environment and Sustainability
Tiny. Mighty. Obsessed with poo.
Join the Lower Blackwood LCDC for a fascinating workshop about those hard-working heroes of the soil, the dung beetles.
These hard working critters are out there every day burying dung, improving soil structure, cycling nutrients and helping to keep pastures productive. Less mess on the surface, more goodness back in the ground.
At this short workshop, we’re taking a closer look at what’s really going on beneath your feet (and your herd). Because dung beetles aren’t just a nice to have, they’re a powerful natural tool for healthier soils and more efficient farming systems.
Lower Blackwood LCDC's Project Officer, Jourdyn, will share all you need to know about our local species, signs of activity and how to monitor populations on your own property.
Whether you’re already seeing beetles at work or just starting to notice what’s happening in your paddocks, this is a chance to understand how to make them work harder for you.
This event is free with barbecue and drinks provided. Registrations essential.
The Shire of Augusta Margaret River is proud to partner with the Lower Blackwood LCDC to promote sustainable agriculture.
