Feeling overwhelmed or confused by aged care systems? Join us for an informative and supportive session designed to help you - or someone you care for - better understand aged care services, supports, and your rights. 

Representatives from Advocare and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing will share practical information and answer your questions.  Topics include:
 

  • Features of the new Aged Care Act

  • Accessing MyAged Care and the process once registered

  • Understanding Support at Home and the classification levels

  • Getting face to face help

  • Who Advocare are and how they can assist older people

  • Championing the rights of older people - Statement of Rights, Quality Standards and Code of Conduct

  • Advocacy support and how it works - help to resolve problems and disputes with your aged care services

  • Identifying and addressing elder abuse
