Celebrating Augusta and its annual whale migration

The Augusta Community Resource Centre is delighted to present the Augusta Whalesong Festival, celebrating Augusta’s annual whale migration and showcase the region’s rich biodiversity and natural attractions.

Held over the over the WA Day long weekend, (29 May to 1 June 2026) the festival includes a series of free and ticketed experiences for all ages. Enjoy live music, street parades, sand sculptures, kite displays, boat harbour festivities, guided walks, yoga, film screenings, and more

Augusta Whalesong Festival is not only a celebration of Augusta's wildlife, natural beauty. It’s a celebration of the Augusta community spirit!  Don’t miss it!

Festival events

  • Festival Opening Ceremony: Friday 29 May, 11am, Lions Park, Albany Terrace.(FREE)
  • Whalesong Frolic Cocktail Party: Friday 29 May, 5 - 7:30pm, Augusta Volunteer Marine Rescue, Augusta Boat Harbour. (Ticketed)
  • Town Centre Festivities:  Saturday 30 May, All day. Include Sand Sculpture at the Village Grocer. 
  • Whalesong Street Parade: Saturday 30 May, 11am, Blackwood Avenue.
  • Kite Display & Live Music: Saturday 30 May, 12 - 5pm, Augusta Hotel
  • Boat Harbour Festival: Sunday 31 May, 9 - 2pm.  Augusta Boat Harbour.  Includes Blessing of the Fleet at 9am and Whalesong Market Stalls and chance to try our a skiff rower all day.
  • Ocean with David Attenborough Screening: Sunday 31 May, 1pm, Augusta Centennial Hall. (Ticketed)
  • Leeuwin Biddi Guided Walk  & Sundowner: Sunday 31 May, 3 - 7:30pm, Boat Harbour to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse (Ticketed)
  • Yoga: Monday 1 June, Augusta Community Resource Centre.
  • Turner St Jetty Aerial Photo: Monday 1 June, 10am
