- Providing digital training for people aged 50+ and providing device loans and support with devices.
- Facilitating the Young Mentors Program each year, partnering people aged 50+ wanting to learn digital literacy skills, with high school students who teach.
- Hosting a dementia-friendly book collection, large print and e-book collection and audio on CD.
- Welcoming new senior members to the library with personal introduction to our online e-resources.
- Providing a range of events and activities across the year, often in partnership with local groups.
- Stay on Your Feet Hub with resources and printed cards where you can do the falls prevention exercises independently.
Nala Waabi Mia – Our Play House
Margaret River and Augusta Recreation Services
- Providing a range of discounted membership options for older people.
- Running Strength for Life and Supermovers programs for people aged 50+. The Strength for Life™ program is designed specifically for people over 50. Each participant is prescribed their own individual exercise program to meet their needs. The program caters for people of all abilities and encourages participants to start slow, work at their own pace, and progress as they get stronger.
- Providing supervised rehab at the Margaret River Recreation Centre pool and at the hydrotherapy pool at Augusta Recreation Centre.
- Hosting activities for a range of ages and abilities including pickleball, walking sports and aerobics.
Community Development – Age Friendly Communities
- Deliver a range of activities aligned to the Shire’s Age Friendly Community Plan 2024 – 2028.
- Support local age friendly initiatives
- Plan and deliver events and activities for WA Seniors Week

Young@HEART
Young@HEART is held every Monday morning from 10am to 11am and features free music performances. The program does not run on public holidays or when there is another major event in the foyer. The initiative was developed to safely encourage participation in the arts among older residents (over 60s) during the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
