Access to funding

  • Financial Assistance - funding is currently available for local community initiatives in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click on the link or contact [email protected] for more information.
  • Lotterywest COVID-19 Relief Fund - up to $159million for crisis and emergency relief, event cancellation, resilient arts, sports, events and communtiy groups.
  • Other External grants and sponsorships - a useful reference that provides Information on various external funding bodies and grants that become available.

Access to paid video conferencing

The Shire can assist community groups with access to paid Zoom (video conferencing) accounts during the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope this will help you to stay connected during this time.

We have two options to support you:

1. If you need a 1 hour meeting once a fortnight (or less often)
The Shire can assist using our guest zoom accounts. To use this service please send your community group name, meeting time, date, number of participants and meeting duration to [email protected]. We will arrange a one-off zoom meeting for you and send you the log in details to host the meeting. Please be sure to book 1 business day in advance of your meeting to allow for processing time.

2. If you need 1 hour meeting twice a fortnight (or more often)
The Shire can assist through the Community Care Fund, to purchase your group a standard six month zoom subscription. Please email your request to [email protected], including your community group name and why you require frequent video conferencing for your community activity.

The Associations Incorporation Act 2015 determines how incorporated community groups and associations are required to be goverened. The Act details requirements for financial reporting, governance, privacy, and the rules and membership of incorporated associations.

The lifeblood of any community group is its people. Training and up-skilling committee members is vital to ensure the longevity and financial sustainability of community groups.
