The Shire of Augusta Margaret River faces the potential risk of a variety of emergencies both natural and man-made, due to the combination of the Shire’s topographical features, land developments and tourism.
The way we prepare for these events can make the difference between the emergency being managed without significant loss and disruption or a disaster that can have a major impact on life, property and the environment.
History shows that to minimise both the occurrence and impact of emergencies we need to remove the common elements of disasters by acknowledging:
