Alexandra Bridge Works

Construction and works upgrades at Alexandra Bridge are set to take place in February and March 2025.

Local contractors, Enviro Infrastructure have been awarded the tender to perform log armouring for erosion protection along a section of the Blackwood River and construct stairs, a public viewing platform and a finger jetty.

The proposed program of works is set to commence on Thursday, 20 February 2025.

Works will include three phases, allowing the public almost continual use of the facilities during construction. This program of works aims to minimise the impact of limited access to recreational users.

Stage 1 - Log armouring of the river bank.
Stage 2 – Swimming stairs and viewing platform.
Stage 3 – Finger jetty installation.

Construction works are scheduled to be undertaken on the bed and banks during the summer seasonal low water levels in the Blackwood River, allowing access for repair and replacement of the log armouring.

The staged work site area will be fenced off to the public. Recreational users of Alexandra Bridge campground will not be affected.

The Shire Project Management Team will be responsible for contractor management and be available for ongoing updates, queries and responses regarding the project delivery.

All relevant works enquiries can be directed to Mel Tombs [email protected] or 9455 7381

All works being conducted align with the Alexandra Bridge Campground Redevelopment and Management Plan prepared in 2016.

Proudly funded by the Australian Government in partnership with the Shire of Augusta Margaret River.
