Book Week Parade a colourful celebration of storytelling at Margaret River Library

The Margaret River Library was transformed into a vibrant storybook scene last Wednesday, as children and families gathered to celebrate 80 years of the Children’s Book Council of Australia with a full to the brim Costume Parade.

This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure!” inspired a dazzling array of costumes, from classic characters to modern favourites. The event was packed with colour, laughter and storytelling magic, as children proudly showcased their outfits and joined in the festivities.

Library staff awarded prizes for best dressed across age categories, with generous support from the Margaret River Bookshop, who donated a wonderful selection of books. Their contribution added an extra layer of excitement and joy to the afternoon.

Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the event. We look forward to more community celebrations in the future.
