Busking Fees Waived to Boost Creativity

Streamlined Permits for Street Performers

To support a welcoming and thriving region, the Shire has introduced new streamlined permits for street performers – we’ve waived fees and introduced a simple online booking process.

This aims to enhance the cultural vibrancy of the shire and make it easier for both local and visiting buskers to perform in public spaces.

It’s also an opportunity for talented individuals to showcase their skills and provide diverse and authentic experiences for residents and visitors alike.

The fee waiver and online permit apply to street performers, musicians and artists in designated public places within the Margaret River townsite. Standard busking conditions apply. If you want to unveil your big brass band or perform dangerous stunts, you’ll still need to get in touch with us.

This decision is part of the Shire Council's broader effort to promote artistic expression and streamline the processes for all involved.

Key Details of the Initiative:
•    Fee Waiver Period: Effective immediately
•    Eligibility: Open to all street performers, musicians and artists
•    Apply for Permit: Apply online or in person at our Shire Office in Margaret River
•    Locations: See the website for designated areas
•    Conditions: Standard conditions apply

This initiative supports the Shire’s objective in creating vibrant streets and keeping people in our townsites, to support our local businesses.
